ICPE 2026 Abstract submission information

Abstracts must contain:

  • From the below description:

    • Content code (A-F) 

    • Topic code (1-6.6)

  • Title and full name of primary author

  • Complete name of affiliation, including name of University/Institution ... Country

  • Title of Abstract

  • Names of co- authors and affiliation of each author

  • Clearly indicate corresponding (contact) author and provide their e-mail

  • The text of the contribution is 1200 characters maximum

The final publication and therefore the call for papers at ICPE 2026 is divided into 6 sections respectively, to which we expect contributions from all continents: 

  • A) pre-service education for kindergarten and primary teacher in STEM, with focus on physics education
  • B) professional development for kindergarten and primary teacher in STEM, with focus on physics education
  • C) pre-service education for low secondary teacher in STEM, with focus on physics education
  • D) professional development for low secondary teacher in STEM, with focus on physics education

  • E) pre-service education for physics secondary school teacher

  • F) professional development for physics secondary School teacher

The expected contributions concern the essential characteristics of training processes, the related problems and research based studies, with evidence of the results. The following are topics on which attention is focused:

  • 1) Core strategies, reference frameworks for teacher education policies 

  • 2) Approaches in Pedagogical content knowledge and in developing professional competence  

  • 3) Approaches in professional development of teachers and evidence of the roles 

  • 4) Physics Education Research role in teacher education 

  • 5) Support of the universities in teacher professional development 

  • 6) Research based examples on important competence in teacher education and professional development, such as the following: 

  • 6.1) The laboratory in physics education 

  • 6.2) ICT in Physics Teaching/Learning and artificial intelligence 

  • 6.3) Active learning and learning environment 

  • 6.4) Interdisciplinarity 

  • 6.5) Soft skills 

  • 6.6) Complexity, sustainability and transformative education for ideas of the future
